He was in a car accident, earlier. He was going to pick a friend up, to go to their game; he was turning into the friend's driveway, a left turn, or rather waiting for an opening to do so, when he was rear-ended.
He said it bent the bumper down, but I suspect it did somewhat more than that, since he said the trailer-hitch was lower and that's anchored to the body...though it does pass under the bumper. It still drives, anyway, and he's all right. (No, he didn't drive it to the game - he parked it at his friend's place, and they took his car instead.)
I am so very, very grateful it was no worse than that, and all the same my nerves are just a bit on the touchy side for that news. Except for that, today was a lovely thing, full of books and rain and Gardens, and wild hail-storms when I'd come home for the afternoon.
