Just because it amuses me, in that sick sort of way, today was a Bad Traffic Day...elsewhere.

I-5 south, south of Salem? All lanes closed for a while (it's getting better now) due, apparently, to a wreck involving two trucks...and a fair bit of fire retardant foam applied, the cleanup of which was involved in the lanes being closed.... When they did get a lane reopened, there was apparently a 7-mile backup.

I-5 north, north of Salem? Some lanes closed due to a brushfire in the median (I think they were fighting it from there, but details sparse).

Me? I just passed someone who took a car with the size and heft of my Corolla and slammed it into the back of a UPS truck. The UPS truck coulda driven off and you'd never have picked it from a lineup of its fellows as having been hit. Not so the little car, which had a neatly folded hood....

The intersection of Elligsen and 65th, and by extension the intersection of 65th and Stafford, is highly amusing now. Yesterday morning, there was a fresh spill in the road on Elligsen, real close to the intersection - a single can of white paint, I think only a gallon by its size, had fallen to the road and burst. It was still wet around 7:15 when I went past.

And when lots of other people went past. The intersection (and even parts of Stafford) are now decorated with dotted-line patterns the width of a tire, in white paint....
