I haven't posted in a few days; that's surprising, and I'm not sure why. My work week was busy, but not overwhelmingly so, honest....
I suppose it's that not much of interest has been happening. Ooo, I got the dishes done; oh, joy, the checkbooks were balanced. Not the stuff of entries that are interesting, even to me. :P
Today was another matter. I set the alarm in the hope of photographing the sunrise, knowing my odds were lousy. Yep, cloud cover. But it got me up early, so I got a fair bit done before I headed out for a day of photography. Spent a good several hours roaming Portland and taking photographs, and would have spent more if the battery hadn't given out. Which is when I discovered I forgot to charge the other one. Which is okay, because in the end I had a good time and there's always tomorrow. Got some stuff done tonight, too, though I didn't recover my brains fast enough to do the obvious and get the laundry out of the way.
There, see? Boring. While I was downtown, I hit Powell's, getting two of Diane Duane's Wizards books (I'm trying to get the whole series, but I hate the covers on what seems to be the most recent paperback release, so it's a bit "fun". I have books 1, 3, and 6 right now in the series. Good thing I've already read 1-6, right?) Also, finally, got Sandman: Endless Nights. And have finished it. Muchly, muchly glad of that.
And the batteries are both charged now, if I do go out tomorrow to do some more photography, which I'm thinking likely. And, in the very-mildly-amusing range, I needed gas this morning (having forgotten to fill up last night) and went to Costco gas. The lines were longer than the worst time I've seen them, and that time, it took about a half hour to get through (with delays being largely due to number of cars and time to fill, not time to serve as they were well-staffed then). Okay, the gas is a good deal. But it's still on the order of a $2 savings for the whole tank, which is not worth a half hour or more of my time. I drove across the street and paid extra at the gas station there. (I do wonder how much longer they'll be there, as they hardly ever seem to have customers any more, for some reason....)
Unless the other part of the family is in Costco, shopping, while the driver does this, I really do not see the point in sitting in such lines for such small savings. I suppose if I drove a gas-guzzler or drove a lot, and had to fill up more often, or had to watch every penny, I might feel differently. But still, that was insane.
I'm going to bed now. As you can see, it's been an exciting several days. Ayup. Sure. :)
