I woke up about 4 from a dream, made a mental note of the dream, listened to the suddenly-heavy rain on the roof and skylight (probably why I woke), and went back to sleep. Got up just a few minutes after six, without an alarm. When exactly did this start?

Pleasant, though. The house is quiet and it's still dark out, though that will change soon. Might be, from the looks of the dim, too cloudy for much of a sunrise, though.

The dream? I don't remember what surrounded it, but the part that for some reason I felt the need to remember - I think because in my sleepy state I saw it as a warning of some sort I had to pass on - was this: I was tending the woodstove at my parents' house (I wasn't aware of the house, but the stove I knew was theirs, and it looked very like their real one). It had things wrong with it and I was beginning to get nervous that it might be dangerous, when I noted that since the last time I'd checked, the top of the door had weakened, warped, and left a sort of lace-like opening that sparks or hot coals could get out of. In the dream, I let the fire go out and informed my parents that they needed to replace it; they didn't precisely argue, but dad seemed reluctant.

Somehow, if the stove door spontaneously warped that badly, I'm pretty sure he'd be the first champion for replacing it...and maybe the whole stove, depending on paranoia factor. Solid metal oughtn't do that. :)
