I have Mercedes' Lackey's Alta in my hands, and I'm more than halfway through. And I am hoping I will be able to make myself stop and go to bed! This is the same glorious world as Joust, the same main character, but that....

...that was an adventure and an intro, and this is the meat. This is not merely a continuation of that story, though it is that. It is a deepening of it, a strengthening of it, and somewhere along the way this book got its hands on an editor. Or I'm just besotted. The continuity errors in Joust got my attention on the first read-through, where normally I miss such errors. I haven't spotted any yet in Alta. Doesn't mean they don't exist, does mean they're not as obnoxiously in-your-face.

She has really thought this world out, really detailed things, has reasons and reactions, thoughts and knowledge to share.... This world exists, and I want to see more of it. I don't want this book to end. I sincerely hope the story doesn't end when the book does, even if that will leave me impatient for the next one. So far, it's amazing.

I don't want to go to bed. :P

Have to admit, I adored Joust. What a wonderful book!

Wouldn't it be trippy if they weren't errors? ^_^
