The last two days have been hot and miserable, though the nights have been comfortably cool. This morning, it is raining, steadily, solid rain, beautiful and soft and cool. Very welcoming and nice.
Yesterday at work was moderately crazy but not as bad as I thought. I was supposed to be handling priority issues for the day, but to get something out the door I had to refocus, and L ended up doing priority issues for about 3-4 hours. During which time, all the calls that came in that day, all came in. I didn't get one, not from when I took it back to the end of the day. Poor L. I felt sort of guilty for that, but I handed it to him because what I was on was time-critical, and I couldn't afford interruptions, so it seems like that was a good call! Traffic coming home was a bear. I knew it would be from the radio but the alternate routes were sounding pretty bad too, so I just slogged my way thru it. So glad it's not normally like that. (Someone had overturned a gravel truck on I-5 south at south Wilsonville, earlier in the day.)
Last night, I was so out of it from the heat. I am very glad the two hot days this week were both workdays, since at least at work, I have air conditioning. The upstairs of the house is pretty bad when it's hot, so I went downstairs to watch two videos I had from the library. Or, really, fast-forward through them. Lion King 1-1/2, as I'd been warned, is not the greatest. It has a couple cute moments, but fast-forward is your friend. And I'd gotten a Cirque du Soleil DVD - Saltimbanco. I can now say that I really do like the still photos that get published a lot more than the performance, which I had half expected.
But the two, between them, used up a couple hours and by then it was cool enough outside that opening the upstairs windows actually accomplished something to make it nicer. I went to bed early (around 9:30) and woke up early (around 5:45). I wonders where the stay-up-till-all-hours, get-up-at-noon teenager went?? Elsewhere, I guess.
I'd thought I was going to go out and look at paint colors this afternoon, after Scott's game, but it turns out that Scott's game is next weekend so I suppose we will go earlier. This gives me more of the day to do whatever in, not having to be home, and I'm not sure whether to adjust my plans or not since I'd figured I'd stay home all morning. Hrm.
It really is gorgeous out.

I'm back from Texas, in case you didn't know. ;)
Lion King 1 1/2 isn't worth it, eh? I won't bother with it then. Thanks for the heads-up. :)
