Yeah. They say they've made combat and some other stuff easier, the magic rules have changed a little and the psi/supers rules have changed completely, the vehicle rules and tech rules will be changing, etc., etc. I'm really curious. I'm sure I will browse the new books when they're out at Gencon next month. But I don't think I'll be getting them unless they bowl me over.
And yeah. You could use GURPS for online tabletop or PbeM, as much as any other system, but for a mush or similar it's too complex - plus, you have to get their okay, for that sort of thing.
