Got my eyes checked today. Had Scott give me a ride in as this year they needed to dilate them, and I have a horrid time after that even if it isn't sunny out. Only they have a new machine - no dilation! :) Not only do my eyes look fine, but she said she could find no sign that I wore contacts, no damage/problems from that, and my prescription changed...one step better in my left eye. Heee! (She thought it would be three steps at first, but when she did a run between them, I could tell the difference - with one step I couldn't, so she stuck to that.) So, I have new glasses in the new prescription, and she's ordering a new left contact lens for me to try out - to be sure it works, before getting a year's worth. So far, if the glasses are any indication, it'll be fine. When I first put them on I saw double looking left! Took them off and saw the frames were a bit twisted. Gave them back and, when that had been fixed, all was good. That weird disorientation you get when one eye changes and not the other, but everything very clear and fine. I'm already used to it now, it's a tiny difference anyway. But a tiny difference in the right direction! :)

Got a few more books I'd wanted to own. Got a list of more books I want to read to get from the library. Failed to get the foam I wanted to get - should have bought the semi-suited stuff at Jo-Ann's as no one else had even semi-suited. Oh, well, live and learn. It is toooo hot out today. It's not great in here but it's tolerable and the AC is working on improving at least this room. :)

Missed the Tigard balloon festival. Technically it's still going on, but the big launches were at dawn each day, and I just couldn't bring myself to get going that early to watch. Life goes on.
