Went to work and got workish things done. We had another person out with nasty stomach issues today - that's someone every day this week. I'm the only one so far to get free of the bug with only a bout of queasiness and massive nap-time. Lucky me and my almost-cast-iron stomach. Another coworker had a tooth break off and went in this afternoon to have the remnants of it removed. Somehow, he didn't realize how bad it was right away, or just couldn't get it looked at (not sure), and it infected nastily. He looked fine, but he's taking quite a lot of pain meds and antibiotics to continue functioning at all. So hopefully by Monday he'll be feeling much better. (Full anesthesia and having a broken, infected tooth dug out does not sound like he'll be feeling better tonight to me! Yipe.)

The Keg - a restaurant near work - closed. I didn't even notice when it did, or register it. Huh. It was never a place I liked much; heavy food, dark ambiance. But they served lunch when we first took that office, and a few office lunches and even one Christmas party were there. I do remember they stopped serving lunch a year or two back and did only dinner; lots of people were disappointed, I didn't care much.

It definitely closed at some point, though, because now it's an Azteca Mexican restaurant. I assume it must be the grand opening week, as they've hired a group of several men to stand outside and play brass, guitar, etc. In suits. All day. They were there when I drove into work yesterday and today before eight am, and they were still there when I left today. (And yesterday, but yesterday I went home sick before 10, so that's not that long.) Huh.

Can you imagine standing out by a four-lane road playing at the traffic all day? Sheesh.

*giggles hysterically* Thank you so much for sharing that image. I needed that image.

Sounds like we've got the same bug in our area. I was out for a day with the retching and the ickyness, then lost a half day to the "hey, somone took out my skeleton, beat it with anvils, and then put it back in upside DOWN" ness of it all, but now I'm fine too. Glad you mostly escaped?

We have the Keg up here. I assumed it was a Canadian chain. Anyway, your description of the atmosphere and food is spot on. But, as for the band hired to herald its replacement... yeesh. Poor them.

Glad you escaped the worst of the bug! (And part of me is selfishly glad I am not in your co-worker's position with the pieces of teeth.)
