I love my local library, I do I do. I have Master and Commander and Big Fish out right now. Have not yet watched either, but will. I have much more hope of enjoying the first than the second, because the first is more the sort of thing I usually enjoy, but I'm curious about the other, so we'll see.

Brother Bear is waiting for me now (just got in today). I will not pick it up until Monday, most likely. There's a limit to how many videos I need at once and, once you pick them up, it's seven days. Plus, I have holds on several books on journalling and altered book art that will be in by then but aren't yet. I do not think I will spend very long on them, but I'm curious. If I am as interested as I expect to be, I will be able to return them and Brother Bear at the same time, but you never know. I also have a hold on the Firefly DVD so I can see the series, which I've never seen any of. This, however, is not gonna come in any time soon. They have precisely one copy. I am the 11th hold in line. Even at one week per and assuming people pick it up the day it comes in (dangerous assumption, that), it'll be a while. Some will return it early, of course, but...on balance? I'd say it's 2-4 months 'til I get to see that.

I love my local library. And, really, a lot of publishers should love them too, because after I try stuff out there, I may go buy it. I have enough books and whatnot that I really do not need more. You have to convince me, now. And the easiest way to do that is for me to pick up a copy at my local library and realize I will want to reread or reference it.
