There's a part of me that feels I really can't let this day go by without posting about it, and so I am - briefly. Forgetting is bad. So is remembering so intensely that we relive it. Once was enough.

Instead, I'd like to point out where we are and how far we've come. Life is, really, back to normal in this country - barring terror alerts, which seem to cause at least as much terror as they prevent.

I'm more worried about Hurricane Ivan, right now, and a friend (hi, [livejournal.com profile] camwyn!) who is potentially in its path as she helps out victims of the previous hurricanes. That...is a better use of this day than watching rebroadcast footage of three years ago, in my opinion. Then again, I'm not that fond of the TV even when events are first happening, so I'm biased.

And that's all I have to say about the day, and more than I thought I would when I started this post.
