1) Would you rather live in a world with or without technology such as computers, cars, airplanes, bombs?

With. I'm rather sorry the last are possible, except explosives have good uses in other settings. But I'm far far too much a child of our modern world, and i would not choose to give up technology, for all that it (and our use of it!) is far from perfect.

2) If you had to live without either heating in your house or air conditioning, which one would you keep?

Heating. This is an easy but uncomfortable question since I know this house is not a happy place in the summer with no AC. However, I prefer not to have my pipes freeze, which pretty well dictates the answer to this question.

3) If you had to own five dogs, what kind would you get?

Stuffed animals. Or porcelain dogs. (Yes, there are kinds of dogs I think are cute or interesting. No, I would never want to own any of them.)

4) If the world had a front porch, what would you do on it?

...if the world had a front porch, why would I be on it? Which way would it face, the sun or the moon? Seriously, what does this mean?

5) Would you rather live in a neighborhood where you know all of your neighbors by name, or where everyone sticks to their own business?

The latter. I like finding friends. Geographical closeness is no guarantee of shared interests or nature, nor is it a good way for finding friends. I wouldn't mind if I had friends who lived in the neighborhood, but to spend much time with neighbors who weren't friend material? No thanks.

Of course, given the "fun" we had with our neighborhood and HOA, this applies doubly-strongly to my present home, but it is generally true also.
