On my way home from work on Friday, I stopped and picked up a rolling backpack. I have avoided these until now because they cost more than I wanted to venture for something that seemed like I would use it only occasionally (the rolling backpacks I've seen, barring really expensive models, are awkward as backpacks). However, when Fry's had one on sale for $10, I had to. It is a bit awkward as a backpack, as per usual, but not hideously so; and it rolls. It also has a little more space than the backpack that I usually use. This is going to make Gencon this year much more pleasant.

For now, it's sitting in the craft room; I'll put it away properly at some point, but I need to figure out how often I'll want it. My regular backpack is still preferred for day-to-day. (I loaded the new one up and tested, to be sure my assessment was right; it is. More comfortable than I expected, but still not ideal for constant use as a normal backpack, this rolling one. And much of my daily backpack use will not benefit from wheels....) A side benefit of test-loading the new one was that I reloaded my regular one and the distribution of things is much more logical and less likely to aggravate me by either damaging things or creating a mad digging scene as I try to reach one item. (I always knew where they were - but getting to them was a whole 'nother story.)

Waiting for blankets to dry right now. Figured we might as well do a full cleaning of the bed, and then didn't start laundry quiiiiite as soon as I wish I had. Ohwell, they'll be ready shortly. :)

Scott and I played World of Warcraft this morning - not as long as we'd intended, though. I kept screwing up and got frustrated with getting us both killed and called a halt, and we read, did our shopping (planned for this afternoon originally) early, came back and hung out and cuddled and napped and read some more. There are far worse ways to spend a day, really. I can live with this.

Tomorrow morning the Gardens. Not sure what else I will do with the day but I do want to get out and wander a bit as I'm on call next week, which makes wandering about less an easy option.
