...what an evening. It started with lightning, inermittent, perhaps an hour ago or so and continuing till now, growing more frequent. Just a bit ago, the setting sun apparently cleared the clouds. There's a rainbow to the east, over the pasture, arced high and clearly visible most of the way up. Beyond, the trees are lit with a light so yellow it casts the reddish ones into orange and pales the evergreens to an olive shade. The clouds are more a tan shade than any form of grey. There is still the occasional flash, the rumble of thunder...it's very, very impressive.
Make that a double rainbow - I leaned for a shot and saw a second one down into the trees. I've been trying to get shots - none with the lightning in, alas, but perhaps some of the others. I've no idea if any will come out. It's kind of annoying because I'm enjoying the show but sometimes I'd like to read a bit of my book. Having the light on, though, creates a reflection at just the wrong spot on the window for sky shots, so the light is off.
