I had heard something about it on the news, but it wasn't a MAJOR thing. I had also seen it in our local paper with much greater detail so I Knew Rocky's food was OK. It's scary though, you depend on pet food manufacturers to maintain the same high standards you WANT from human food processing plants and then you're reminded that even They can't always do it right. Thanks for posting it, I'm sure there are some who may have missed the coverage. ~Mark
I actually posted it because of a news article I saw, but I did not want to link the article which seemed likely to be very disturbing to people wandering across it (it was to me). Apparently lots of people are still ignorant of the recall and quite a few dogs have died (not all are confirmed related, but they were eating the bad fod), plus there's a rise of liver problems at vets. Apparently the dogs will actually turn away from the food in some/many cases because it does not smell right - but some owners thought they were just being picky.
*shudder* I know too many people with dogs. I'd rather post this up just in case any of them are potentially affected and might not have heard. I don't want to hear the sorts of things mentioned in that news article, having happened to anyone, but even less so my friends where it would be very personal loss, you know?
