Normally, my radio station politely warns me about any problems on my route...just as I become stuck in them. I have a fairly short commute. This is good, but the corollary is that the traffic report rarely comes before I'm in the thick of it.

Today, it did. I bless my luck, as my commute home was nearly as fast as normal - and if I had gotten on I-5 for any length, it would not have been.

For those who know the area, there was an accident on I-205 northbound at Stafford. By the time I heard the report, the backup was all the way to Corbett. By the time I was leaving the Wilsonville library maybe a half hour later (at most), the accident had been cleared but the backup was clear into downtown. It was stop-and-go and very grim. (Of course, "back to Corbett" or "into downtown" makes no difference to me, other than to imply it won't clear any time soon: both go well past where I get on the freeway.)

And now, yay, a weekend!
