I had a good time. A bit chilly: the weather listened too hard to my "yes yes be cool" wishes. I knew when I was on the concert lawn at 5 and it was the cool end of comfortable-with-short-sleeves, that I was in dubious shape. I'd brought my jacket, but sure enough, by the end of it, I would've rather had a good thick blanket. I can't imagine what the folks in shorts and tank tops who hadn't brought much to keep warm with were experiencing. (I also assume they haven't attended zoo concerts much, or else are fond of freezing - once the sun drops it does generally get cool. People from areas where it's shorts weather almost as soon as the thaw hits can laugh at me long and hard now, since it was only about 63, with a light breeze to make it seem chillier, at the end of the concert.)
Good time. Didn't get as much Dar exposure as I hoped, in more than one sense. (She was on for the first 45 minutes or so, and she managed to hit several songs that, subject-matter-wise, were just about guaranteed not to grab me. Which is a pity - I was hoping to be able to figure out whether I liked her or not, and I'm still not sure. Too little exposure, still. Quite a few of my friends do, so I had hopes, but I'm still in uncertainty-land. She did get me to put my earplugs in at one point, and I could still hear the song perfectly well. I was at the back of the lawn for exactly that reason - my sensitive hearing and dislike of Really Loud Noises. Then again, Bruce Hornsby also merited the earplugs due to volume, and for a lot more than just two songs. Shawn didn't. Huh.)
Pleasant, except for the chill. Smell of hamburgers and cotton candy and so on - I wasn't too far from the food stands - though I didn't buy from them (they are a little spendy, as you might imagin).
And if this makes no sense and/or is disjointed, well, I plead being tired? :P
