Spent the morning with Scott, then went to visit my parents. I am THRILLED to report that this week I not only held a cat on my lap (it wasn't originally intended, but Babe nominated herself for the position, and arguing with 12 pounds of fur with pointy things on all four legs is generally counter-productive), but that after I had petted the cats and held one on my lap, all I had to do was wash my hands and I was okay. I was so okay that I didn't head straight home - I actually went and got all my errands done. I sneezed a bit, had some mild sinus, but that eased off when I washed my hands. A year ago, I would have had a sinus headache, my eyes would have burned and run, though I might not have sneezed since my nose would not have had enough room for a sneeze. I would have had to race home, take a decongestant and possibly a Tylenol (the latter depending on how bad the headache had got), shower thoroughly. If it was really bad, maybe even lie down and rest for a bit till it all hit.
Today, I went to the mall. I'm not sure that's any brighter, but allergies weren't a problem at all, so I'm thrilled.
I do not like what Washington Square is turning into. It occasionally has something useful to me, but not as often as in the past. On the other hand, the glittery sidewalk outside the new addition IS really pretty. I think it's ostentatious, but I still love it.
