The fudge came out very nicely. Interestingly, I don't appear to have any problem even when eating several pieces of it, in spite of the heavy cream. Apparently, either the amount in one piece of fudge is too little to give me trouble, or the cooking process takes care of some or all of the lactose. The fudge may not be on my diet as anything other than a treat, but at least I don't need a pill to eat it.

This morning included the ever-exciting grocery shopping trip. Whoo hoo? On the other hand, having groceries is a Good Thing, I think.

This morning, I finally found my bag of photos! I have hauled the photos I took as a child around for years, but whenever I meant to scan them, I could never find them. I was beginning to wonder if I'd permanently misplaced them in this latest move. But I found them! (They are, indeed, in a bag. The bag? Was in a file box. I kept searching bags.) I am absolutely thrilled. I have more pictures of Mom than I expected - she generally doesn't like having her picture taken, but there are quite a few of her with various cats and otherwise willing to pose for the sake of her camera-obsessed daughter. Also quite a few of Dad, me, and numerous cats, but those are not so great a surprise to me. (And assorted other things - landscapes, blurs, thumbs, an entire set of photos of what I think is Valleyfest but is in any case a carnival, the post-graduation party for high school, etc.)

I am so very very thrilled. I have scanned only one roll so far, and uploaded some from that. It will take a while to go through the whole bag and get all of them scanned. But I have them, and they seem to be in fine shape for scanning. (I am amazed my parents tolerated my camera obsession so much. The film and development must have been outrageously expensive, especially considering my tendency to take multiple similar photos. Of course, that means I got some good ones, so I'm happy. But wow do I appreciate digital cameras a lot!) I also have the negatives but I don't have a way to scan them myself. Starting with the photos and not worrying about the negatives for now.

I went out to visit my parents this afternoon, and we spoke for a while, and I got colonized by cats. Babe has apparently decided I am totally trustworthy, and will go sprawlingly to sleep in my lap now. Boy is she a hefty cat.... :) I have some photos from that but haven't uploaded them yet. It's late, so I don't think I will upload them until tomorrow now. I took a bit of my fudge over and Dad seemed to appreciate it (though it's not on his diet, any more than it's on mine).

On the way home, I found a copper chain for my medallion, so I'm happy about that. (It had a pretty little pendant on it which has gone in my jewelry chest; I might even wear it sometimes that way. But that wasn't my reason for buying it.)

I uploaded some photos from the first set of scans, as well as a few of my photos from either last weekend or this weekend (I forget which!) to Flickr. I have more photos but they will not go up until tomorrow. (Some of the photos uploaded have notes to indicate which cat is which, where I know.) I'm kind of hoping Dad will remember the names of some of the cats I couldn't name, but it's probably a long shot. We had a lot of cats over the years.
