The sunrise came as I was on the last portion of my drive into work,
lasting from when I left I-5 to when I walked into the building (and
probably a bit after, but I was inside - it's grey and tired-looking
out there, almost pre-dawn in appearance).

It was INCREDIBLE. Seriously, it is one of the most spectacular
sunrises I've seen in a while. And I couldn't see one piece that I
heard about on the radio and wish I could have seen. The entire
eastern sky was lit up, mostly in pink-orange, stunningly bright and
brilliant color. I took some snap-shots of that, though I don't know
if any came out. I hope they did. I doubt they will fully convey what
it was like to be there and see it though!

The piece I couldn't see and wish I could have - people who could see
Mt. Hood reported that it was casting a shadow of itself up into the
clouds. Depending on who reported it, they said it looked like it was
erupting, or like it had a reflection in the sky. I wish I could have
seen
that!
