The sunrise came as I was on the last portion of my drive into work,
lasting from when I left I-5 to when I walked into the building (and
probably a bit after, but I was inside - it's grey and tired-looking
out there, almost pre-dawn in appearance).

It was INCREDIBLE. Seriously, it is one of the most spectacular
sunrises I've seen in a while. And I couldn't see one piece that I
heard about on the radio and wish I could have seen. The entire
eastern sky was lit up, mostly in pink-orange, stunningly bright and
brilliant color. I took some snap-shots of that, though I don't know
if any came out. I hope they did. I doubt they will fully convey what
it was like to be there and see it though!

The piece I couldn't see and wish I could have - people who could see
Mt. Hood reported that it was casting a shadow of itself up into the
clouds. Depending on who reported it, they said it looked like it was
erupting, or like it had a reflection in the sky. I wish I could have
seen
that!

Maybe someone will post some of the pictures if taken of Mt. Hood. :)

I saw the sunrise on my run to the gym this morning. It was amazing. Mt Tabor blocks my view of Hood, but the sky was still amazing.

Sunsets usually get all the press. It's good to see an amazing sunrise jabbered about for a change.
