I tried to get one of outside, but the rain had passed and the cloudy conditions and light didn't make for great photos. I was pleased with how this shot of Babe - taken by reaching for the camera while she was on my lap - came out, though. (Yes, I used the LCD, so I could frame the shot - I didn't get that lucky shooting blind. :)

Now the clouds are flowing by outside, I can see the darker lower clouds against the paler grey of the upper sky. Soon it will be too dark, I think, but for now I am watching them move and it's peaceful, calming. Scott has gone to Dale's to game for the evening, after spending the better part of the day with me; it has been a very good day. I don't often go to Dale's any more (I haven't in years, in fact) because some of the games are of no interest to me and because my allergies got bad and Dale has a number of cats. But maybe I will go again, occasionally. Maybe I won't - but if I do, I'll take something along in case they side track into something I'm not interested in, and that should be fine. :)

She looks content to me, maybe she's just a bit irritated that you won't stay still for as long as she would like?

Her bad reactions started just after the flea treatment, and are usually strongest when I first appear near her. She hunches down or darts away. If I start petting she is much less responsive than she was before the treatment. But if I keep it up long enough - or if I get her on my lap - she seems to unwind a bit and be okay with things.

Thank you. I'm not sure I entirely am. I'm moving forward. I'm doing stuff. I'm trying not to let 'doing stuff' become 'doing stuff to avoid feeling stuff'. But I still burst into tears - not at random, I always know why - but it doesn't take much to tip me over that edge. I still plead with the universe to give them back, even though I know how pointless that is. I just keep going anyway. More than a touch neurotic in some ways - I have asked Scott to call me before driving any major distance (but I can handle his driving to/from work - which is across town by surface streets, less than 5 minutes, mind you - in good weather - I only sent an EMAIL this morning to be sure he got there okay--).
