Went out to feed the feral cats and suchlike today again. This time I saw two of them! One was black and one was black and white - the latter's facial markings were startlingly close to Babe's, so they looked like stocky, fluffy (they've been out in cold weather) copies of Basta and Babe. I already knew that was the case - Dad mistook the black and white for Babe on more than one occasion, and had mentioned the similarities (Basta's too thin and slow and so on to actually mistake the black for her, though the resemblance to a younger Basta is pretty uncanny). So I know they're still alive for sure, at least some of them. That was a really good feeling. The skunks are too - I didn't see them, but apparently something irritated one in the past week. Heh. Lingering scent, near the barn, but not too too bad.
Fed the birds and watered the plants, too. Very nice of my coworker to cover for me for a few hours (I am on call!) while I did that, though as it turned out no calls came in (this is good too).
I took photos while I was out there, but I still haven't moved the photos over to my computer. Oh, well, tomorrow perhaps.
I didn't get the Star Trek tribbles episodes for Christmas (no real surprise: you can't get the 'tribbles special' package on DVD as far as I can tell, and getting the episodes requires getting the DS9 season that episode was in - a little on the un-cheap side). So I ordered them from Amazon. :) I have the DS9 but not the original yet. For the original, because I loved the show, I ordered all three seasons rather than just getting that episode. I bought that through the marketplace. The seller has ballooned negative feedback in the time since I ordered...and I'd worry about it, except several of them are bitching about time from order to delivery. If they got the same estimated time of delivery that I did, then they're bitching about getting what they were told they'd get. I'll wait and see; if I don't get it by the expected time frame (which is delivery between 2/5 and 2/19, for pity's sake), I will worry about it then.
I said this elsewhere, sharing here because it amuses me. "Really need to declutter here. It should be easy to declutter some - there is so MUCH clutter. Plenty of options!"
On the way home from my parents' house, I stopped at Wendy's to get lunch. It's not really on my diet, but the occasional 'treat' outside the diet is okay - and I wanted the memories. Mom liked Wendy's better than McDonald's. As a child, I preferred McDonald's, although I later came to agree with Mom (except as regards chicken nuggets - I know the ones at McD's are odd, but I am USED to the odd!). But I loved a Frosty. And the rest was okay. So I stopped and got a cheeseburger and fries and a frosty (chocolate, of course - when did they start offering a vanilla option??). It was a lovely trip down memory lane. It also reminded me why I always order the quarter pound double stack - because a single burger has almost no meat taste to it. :P It was also more than I wanted - half the frosty and a third of the fries went uneaten. Probably just as well. And yes, I did take a lactaid pill, and hurrah, it seems to have done its job. That was part of why I abandoned the frosty halfway through.... Didn't want to take another pill and was already full enough anyway.
Bed soon; it's past my bedtime already, but I wanted to post something. Babe is playing paw-at-the-door as if it will bring me out. I think she'll be disappointed when I just go into another door....
I need to make an icon of Basta, Babe, or both. At some point. Not this minute.

*shudders* Nasty.
Also? I can't help being amused. I used to love McDonald's nuggets more than anything. Well, more than lots of stuff, anyway. Then they went and "improved" them.
Now? I get my nuggets at Wendy's!
