1. Would you rather serve in heaven or rule in hell?

Serve in heaven. That's particularly easy since I don't actually want to rule anywhere, as well as not wanting to be any place that could be categorized as hell, literally or otherwise.

2. If you had evidence that would catch a killer, but also put you in jail, would you use it?

Yes. Though I'd be very surprised at myself that it could put me in jail...I can't think what I'd do that would lead to that.

3. If you could work the worst job you have ever had, for three years and then never have to work again, would you or would you rather work the job you always wanted but not be able to retire until well past the age of retirement?

Worst job ever, assuming it was not physically harmful, or mentally harmful in a permanent way. The world is uncertain, and after three years, all my working would be optional. I could then go take my dream job without having to worry about if the company let me go or went under, and I could still retire when I wished. Or I could work part-time, and travel. Or change my mind halfway through my life without problems.

4. If you could write four newspaper headlines, which would come true, what would they be?

Greenhouse gas reductions effective, scientists say
AIDS cure safe, effective in clinical trials
New vaccine effective for most cancers
Moon colony celebrates twenty-fifth year
Virtual worlds provide new life for seriously injured

5. A video of children in Florida fighting, while adults cheer on, was posted on the popular web site MySpace, The popularity of "gang videos" has also increased, and there has been renewed interest in re creating the infamous "Faces of Death" video series, do you feel there should be laws limiting extreme videos?

Hmmm. I don't know; I don't know enough to understand the problem. I think they're nasty, and reprehensible, but I don't know if they should be illegal. I do think that anyone doing anything illegal to create them ought to be prosecuted for that, and presumably such videos would be removed from the site as depicting illegal activities, but other than that I don't know.

With respect to #5, what amazes me the most is that we're talking about banning videos of a criminal act, and not talking about making harsher penalties for adults who are responsible for orchestrating these things.

Moral outrage is great, but we should keep it focused on a useful target, you know?
