This is from an "Anguished English" page-a-day calendar I have on my desk at work:

"The patient was brought in by two police officers in handcuffs."

You know, if it happened literally the way the sentence states, it seems to me the sort of thing the officers might not live down.

Five'll get you ten that it was from an AP report. They have the worst incidence of misplaced modifiers and dangling participles. >.<

Also, "The man was found by two officers handcuffed to the bedpost and wearing a ball-gag." O.o
