This morning, I walked out to the car in a light mist, not even really
worthy of the word rain, a drop here, a drop there, all pinprick fine
and cool, surrounded by the smell of wet pavement.

It was lovely, and so very Oregon.

Now it is grey out there and the rain is coming down hard, the streets
are wet and the greens are lusher (if shadowed, because the daylight
is dimmed by the clouds). They move back and forth in the wind,
sometimes pushed quite hard by it.

There may be thunder, the weather report says, and this afternoon
there may be hail. It makes me think of Mom - she loved a good
thunderstorm. And so do I, because she taught me that love, despite my
growing up in a place not nearly so prone to them as where she grew up
in Ohio.

It is lovely, and wild, and I am enjoying it very much from my nice
sheltered office. (Will I like it so much when I go out on my lunch
break, if it is still doing this?)

..and while I was typing this, my view of it was abruptly severely
reduced because the wind shifted and finally doused my window good.
Now it's all rain-streaked.
Hee.

I'm a huge fan of thunderstorms.
Just not when we have to work in them.

I want to move back to the pacific northwest. It's all dry and not-rainy here. :/

Some summer days, I'd sit in the garage on a lawnchair. The garage door would be up and give me a beautiful view of the lightning and towering clouds. The thunder is so visceral. ^_^ <3
