I have been whiny and out of sorts all day. I am not sure how much of that is dread of the impending day of airline travel, how much is build-up stress from almost two weeks not at home, how much is due to the heat (miserable - over 90 and humid, today), how much is due to my allergies giving me intermittent fits (mild but annoying level), how much is genuine stressors, etc., etc.
Right now I am melting in relief and it can be attributed to two things. First, the packing is completed with only the usual last minute items to drop in, and thus I am no longer Fretful about that. And second, the weather has broken in thunder storms and lightning and RAIN. It is cooler and the air is softer and clearer and I am listening to the drumming droplets outside and I am so very tempted to go OUT there in it.
Weather. Oh, weather. It's supposed to just be tonight too, so with luck it won't delay our flight in the morning. I might not like it as much if it did that. We have a battery-operated alarm clock in use so that should save us in the event of a power failure, tho'.
We visited both of Scott's grandmothers today. I like them both very much; I wish we were closer and could get out here more often. But I want that to happen without leaving Oregon...oh, the contradictions!
Our cats appear to have won the heart of their caretaker, but that's not too surprising - she went in prepared to like them, after all.
I am so glad we made this trip. And I am so very very glad that I will soon be home. I miss home. I miss my kitties and my routine and my things. And I want to upload my photos, but that probably won't happen until the weekend.
