We brought Apple, a small, female, medium-hair tortie, home from Cat Adoption Team tonight. Or rather I did - Scott met her, then headed on to his game. :)

She's in the upstairs hall bath for several days, both as part of the introduction process, and while I wait to see if the sneezes become more. She was fine at the shelter and there have only been a couple intermittent sneezes since she arrived, so it may just be our housekeeping. *wry* She was treated there, last month, for a respiratory infection, so better to be sure, I think. I hope she and Babe get along once they meet more than through a door, too. So far, there's been no hissing at the door. A lot of lurking, and some plaintive mewing from whoever is on the side of the door where I am not, but no hissing.

Apple is very soft-footed. At the shelter, at one point, when I was meeting her, she grabbed my hand with her paws. Hard, quick, and in play. No claws. I asked if she'd been declawed, but they said no - and I've seen her use her claws since, on a scratching device. She was just that gentle in grabbing at my hand.

Tonight, there is one photo of Babe (being silly and cute) and three photos of Apple (seriously, click through - the thumbnails link to their larger pictures - she's pretty - and her tail doesn't know she is a "medium" hair!):

Babe Apple Apple Apple - who REALLY likes being petted. :)

Nice kitty. Nice to have one that appreciates you are a person and not a bit of furniture that feeds her and is thus suitable for scratching and all else.

My old cat only ever scratched me once, she was desperate to get down because there was a strage dog approaching, I thought she was safer where she was. Turns out she got a lot more traction when she sank hwer claws right in to my skin. But it was only the once. I learned to let go.

Laura, she's beautiful!

Congrats to her and you! I love the picture where she's nestling her head into your hand, that's the best affectionate cat thing ever. :)

How is she getting on with Babe?

It's nice to hear you refer to her as a member of the family. They are both sweet looking cats.
