Yesterday in the afternoon, I was looking out my boss's window and laughing at the rain, saying "wow" because it had suddenly picked up and looked like long silver yarn strands rather than normal rain. I thought it was lovely, and would probably let up shortly, and I was right on both counts.
About the same time, one of the rare tornadoes (yes, we get them, no, not often) was running through Clark and Skamania counties in Washington, not very far north of us. No serious injuries or deaths, but there was property damage, which isn't usually the case.
I didn't learn about it until this morning; I rode home with an audio book playing, rather than listening to the radio.
It was only a 1 on the Fujita scale. (Which the Koin.com local news site mis-named the Enhanced Fajita Scale - I didn't know tornadoes came in beef or chicken! *amused* If it's enhanced, does that mean it also comes with sour cream? That could be dangerous for me - I am lactose-intolerant, after all.)

*stares at video in bemusement* I can see why it's relevant here, but I gotta admit to being totally confused as to why it exists. *wry*
