LiveJournal was affected last night by a security breach that could affect the privacy level of one or more of your (recent) entries and record your email address of record, but according to LJ did not infect computers or steal passwords. Details are at http://news.livejournal.com/117957.html

I checked and my account was affected. If you clicked through on the LJ cut on the post titled "Not all parenting moments are perfect, of course." (which is now back to its intended security in the parenting-related filter, so you may no longer see it if so) while the exploit was active, then you probably got it. In any case others may also have been affected via friends' page (you had to click through on mine because of the lj-cut, but entries without a cut in other accounts were also affected), so it's best to check your entries from last night.

Sometimes, when something like this happens, I have fantasies of special forces teams storming some student's room and carting the little bastard off to a prison island hell in the south pacific.

Or if it's a Russian kid, Siberia, if he survives the arrest.

South Georgia isn't particularly busy, that would be a good place for them. It even has buildings already. I wonder what it would cost to visit Stromness?
