This is what I get for telling a couple of coworkers I MUSH: now they want my help with their site. Worse, I know code!

Actually they're being very nice about it, just asking for advice and such. And the first batch of coders they got told them what they wanted couldn't be done, but not why. I told them why - and I said it could be done but I was not doing it, and why, and how it could be done. So...they've been working on loading some specific stuff, I guess.

I'll go look when I have time. They're not bad people, though I don't think their site is gonna interest me by the time it's done. Such is life.

Besides, I have enough sites....

I still haven't found the bugs. But I'm about to put in a version that MAY address one and will at least help find the other (we hope!) if it recurs,....

One of my coworkers raises puppies for the guide dogs for the blind program. He is raising one now.

They just got their trainee from last year back. He failed out of the program because he's too afraid of aggressive people, and reacts in part with aggression of his own. Those dogs have to be able to take a lot of stress.

They're going to keep him as a pet. Honestly, my coworker seems as thrilled as the dog does.

And I only flinched briefly when I saw him, and only because I hadn't known he was coming in, hadn't seen him in a while. I can deal with dogs so much better these days.

For those who aren't aware - I took four years of Spanish in high school. In college, I double-majored in computer science and Spanish. I started out in Spanish at the "intro to literature" level (the highest course you could test into) and was bored off my behind because I'd just DONE that the year before, in high school. Half the same books, and so on. *laughs* At least the instructor did not require me to watch El Norte again, despite its being shown to the class. Apparently my explanation of how much I disliked it convinced her I remembered it well enough. *grins wryly*

Anyway, in the three..no, four! Scary. Four years since I graduated, I have used my Spanish, but not with native or other speakers, just reading and to myself, a bit; and I have not studied it at all.

I don't want to lose this. So I'm looking at community college courses. I've got a query out as to whether the instructor of one course minds my pager, because I will have it some weeks, much as I dislike that fact. But if they don't mind, the class is ideal, really. It's less than five minutes from where I work, even.

We'll see. There are other options, if it doesn't work out.
