My tooth is bothering me a bit, despite the dentist filling in a chip, so I get to go back on Monday. On the other hand, it's not bothering me terribly, so at least waiting till Monday sounds totally reasonable. I hate my allergies, but I think they've developed a cold over top of them. My sinuses are stuffed, and the back of my throat hurts. Great.

On the news front...dammit, folks, STOP IT. I saw someone on a mush I'm on with a @doing message of "Kill an Afghan: Save a human."

I pointed out to him that many Afghans don't support the Taliban, and even those who do may do so out of fear. His reply? "Yes. I don't take words on a MUSH that seriously. Any more than I take other @doings seriously."

I take words seriously. I take stupid words, and words that breed hate, seriously. How can you work in a written medium and not take words, especially ones that reference real life, seriously? Ugh!

Ditto for the people who think "Afghan hounds" or maybe "Afghan rugs" deserve persecution...for goodness' sake.

There's an article on that last here.

Ugh. Well, g'morning, at any rate....

And it really is. I'm here, I'm whole, I'm healthy, and I'm trying to decide which of several treats to have for breakfast (after completing my shopping yesterday evening at Safeway, thus meaning I do have a choice...).

It begins. We're bombing Afghanistan. Areas of Kabul are without power.

"On my orders, the United States military has begun strikes against al Qaeda training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime," Bush said in a televised address at 1 p.m. Sunday. "We are supported by the collective will of the world."

We've got some sort of reception on the TV. I have yet to watch even the first episode of Enterprise - my bad - I shall have to try to do that tomorrow. I don't know if I'll want more tapes...it depends on how well I like it. We can hear okay, but the picture's a little fuzzy. We'll see.

I had a good scene earlier, and I'm having a so-so one now (that I almost fled at the beginning). I don't enjoy it when I find myself in a cheap comedy schtick scene.... And some people did outright flee, whee!

I got my mortal's apartment building described, now to see if it passes inspection.

Not a bad weekend, all in all, I think. Not exactly what i wanted, but how often is it?
