I haven't written all day, so what do I say? Umm. Let's see.

It's been a day. I went out to price laptops and buy groceries.

Laptop prices suck, and so do the selections. I think I'll see if I do any better on the companies' web sites, or other web sellers, even with the delay inherent in ordering that way. Maybe. We'll see. Do I really need a laptop that much? The annoyance factor is far more troubling than the cost factor, even.

Somehow, "buy groceries" meant "come home with the newest Mercedes Lackey in hardcover". It's called Take a Thief and is a Skif story, set before Talia comes to the Collegium. It's excellent. Plot-light, setting and character heavy, but not plot-free. And with some very hysterical, humorous moments.

I really hope Dad hasn't already bought it. We do that sometimes. If he hasn't, I'll loan it his way. It's worth a read, and worth getting in hardcover. And yes, I read it cover to cover in one day.

It's been a while since I've met a new Lackey book I could not put down. Quite a while. Then again, I also tend to acquire them on weekdays, when not putting them down means shorting myself on sleep! It's still a little close to her formula, perhaps - then again, almost anything with a Herald in it is. It's good; I'm glad I got it.

I did an inspection, and linked the build, on Ashes. Simple, happy little things.

I cleaned the kitchen - a little. The stovetop has been wiped down, and I washed all the hand-wash dishes that were waiting for attention (not all that many) as well as one casserole dish. It may be dishwasher-safe, but it doesn't appear to be dishwasher-clean. It'd been through twice; I figured it was time to give in and scrub.

I didn't roleplay today. I was hoping to roleplay Alariel, my child alt on AmberMUSH, but the person wasn't available; and I wasn't wanting to scene very much beyond "finish up that story". I was half-willing to scene elsewhere, but not enthusiastic enough to ask.

Besides, I Had A Book. It kept distracting me. Oopsy!

*pauses* Wow. Apparently, when I haven't said anything all day, I say a lot.
