And it really is. It's pretty out, and foggy, and the trees are red and yellow and green and gorgeous.

And I'm getting stuff done at work - yay, getting stuff done. And it's after 8:30, so time to hand the pager off.

I wonder if anyone is going to fix the computer that controls the phone. It's been off by about 15 minutes most of the time we've had it, but right now it's off by an hour and a quarter, instead. Ah, a little novelty.

Isn't it, though?

Still approved for the laptop. Switching to XP, though. Horrid of me, but having seen it...I don't mind it. I really don't. It should be nice and stable, it runs the "key" programs (key in my eyes), and the VP agrees with me: we're going to have to support this, so we might as well have it now.

I'm going to see if the Developer's Studio and PC Anywhere work on XP, though, tonight (testing on Scott's). If they don't, I may need a dual-boot!

But they should. I hope. *crosses fingers* Everything else I tested looked good.

Thank you! When I turn off "realtime protection" from my antivirus, it now turns off. I didn't have to go to the task manager and kill the process!

Of course, it still bluescreens my computer if it is on and I try to compile. *beams* But at least I can now turn it off! Yay!

And now, to show for his patience, his toenails are Crystalline. (This is a translucent, shimmery sea-green, to my eyes. You have to put on a couple layers before you really feel like it's opaque. I only put one on him.)

Yes, I painted Scott's toenails. He's patient about my sillinesses, since no one but us normally sees them anyway. My fingernails are China Gold. We'll see if I color them tomorrow; Wednesday they'll be a dark red, to suit my very silly Halloween costume. I've no idea if it will work, or just be absurd, but hey.

Otherwise, tonight was a pain. The Developer's Studio installs, and it works, but I couldn't test PC Anywhere because XP does not like our home network setup. It does not like it at all. :( Grrrr.

So I couldn't transfer the files needed for the test. *sighs* Oopsy.

And now I'm tired. Yay, bed. Time for bed. Gotta get up tomorrow and be alive, after all.

And I haven't done my Spanish homework. Again. Hopefully tomorrow....

And people wonder why I never build habits. It's 'cause they die at the outset. :)

I've picked out the laptop I want, and I like it. Here's hoping I can make it work, but hey, why not? :)

I hung out and talked with friends, and actually had a lot of fun.

I painted my fingernails and Scott's toenails (not the same color, but hey, a little variety's fun).

I finished reading Emotional Intelligence which is a very good book; I'm glad I bought it.

There are Halloween streamers (black and orange, natch) up in our office.
