...for the client to call us when it happened, why is it important enough for you to call me with it at this hour? Geesh.

Customer support called me. They called a client to close a bug report, and discovered their server had been down since 11 last night. So at 6:30 this morning, I get paged.

Thanks, guys. It got me moving, anywa.y :P

So far. I just had a 75-cents dinner roll, which proves I should have brought bread and butter to work along with my lunch, but hey, it sounded really good. :P

Notes out to people explaining system, regarding some problems at one site; notes out to other people regarding conversion-work that should be done when I get back; scheduling with my team; coding (a bit, anyway). Notes to our folks about my being on vacation.

Now to do:
1. Finish integrating a project to run off the development-base instead of the base-base (which is where the development-base will go when it's finished, and it is needed for this project, so)....

2. Run test build of that project, set up M. to be able to run such builds for the tester whilst I am gone.

3. More code, if time (should be plenty of!).

After work:

Pick up prescriptions (if they're ready) and get these damn glasses repaired. *sighs* Oh, well, at least it's a nuisance. (The nose pads are held in using, not screws, but a dent in fitted plastic. Alas, the plastic of the right nose pad has split in two. The pad is attached to the portion that is no longer being firmly held in place. Occasionally, it falls out, and I stuff it back in. This is an oddly disturbing sort of thing, considering the very minor inconvenience it poses.)

*laughs* One of my coworkers was saying that it takes a few days to really relax and enjoy a vacation. And this is, generally, accepted wisdom.

I feel so much lighter now, three days from now I oughta be absolutely floating.

Seriously, why should I worry about work? I fussed all week to make sure I did th ebest I could. I'm sure I'll worry - oh, say, Saturday and Sunday before I go back. Till then?

I've got good people. I've tried to make sure they're ready for this. If they're not, my boss is around. I'm irreplaceable (I hope, I think!), but not indispensible. Which is exactly where I want to be.

Vacation, vacation, vacation. *dances about*

Movie tomorrow. Promised I'd be there for a party on Endless, too, so some roleplay time. Maybe some time at the Japanese Gardens.

And Monday I have an appointment with the eye doctor. Going to see if my prescription's changed (in a year and a half) and also try contacts. (If the prescription has changed, I'll also get new lenses for my glasses, natch.)

Got other ideas, but most of all, I'm going to enjoy doing things when I want to. Almost any of my plans except the Monday appointment and my visit to California for the Harry Potter movie (with friends, yay!) can be blown off if I change my mind.

So, I'm on vacation. I no longer have to answer clients' questions or code for two weeks.

So I'm...ummm. Answering questions in support here?

Granted, I've been doing that all along. I enjoy it, which is sorta strange. But still. I'm answering more of them, in the gleeful knowledge that if I take the time to look stuff up and try it and whatnot, I still have lots of free time.

Yeah, well, it's not exactly news that I'm odd, I suppose.

Besides, I like knowing I am (at least occasionally) helping people out.

Started the ball rolling on a possible candidate for the position. My boss will be following up so he won't have to wait two weeks if we can do this (we'll see if we get the go-ahead still).

Got a build done for the tester, got changes merged in so the system with the customizations builds against the proper (development) base.

Got my glasses fixed so the nose pad isn't falling off; made an appointment for an eye exam on Monday (getting to be time again - and I'm going to actually try contacts, finally). Picked up my prescriptions. Antihistamine is a good thing.

Cold's still around, but it's getting steadily better. I'm using fewer pills, less often, and the worst points still leave me feeling more human. Yay!

VACATION!!!!!!!!!

And now I am going to go collapse into bed...collapse sounds nice....
