...we've (the building) been picketed. It was a very surreal experience. The janitorial staff for our whole set of buildings (which are basically 'luxury' office buildings, as they put it - not really what I would call luxury, but certainly nice, anyway) is protesting because they want benefits.

But...they're walking around pounding on 'drums' made from janitorial buckets, carrying a white-on-purple banner reading "Justice For Janitors", and chanting rhythmically, led by a guy with a megaphone. (Sorry, on the third floor inside, I can't tell WHAT they're chanting....)

Actually, I think they should have benefits. But their march is still surreal and somewhat amusing. It looked more like a parade than a protest; they simply (as best I could tell) circled each building once, then marched off across the street to protest there. There are a number of buildings in the area; are they planning to go to them all?

Slow, but good.

I had to switch data files (I can't figure out what the layout is in the 'new version' - I think I'm missing one of the notes about swapping fields, because a 0/1 field - I thought it was!! - now has a value of 2120 in the new load - methinks it moved).

Other than that, I'm making progress on coding this load. Hopefully I'll get a bit more done on it tonight, and a lot this weekend. Also running a compile for the tester...be available to her if she comes in over the weekend, or on Monday if she's more sensible. ;)

Tonight's not bad, except for the whole 'at work until 9' part. Okay, that's enough break. ;)

Gah. I read way, way too much.

There's an issue on the support board, about a recent change, that made it so when you edit a post, the link links to the post, not the journal. Handy if you were changing something old and want to confirm it. Not-so-handy if you were DELETING something.

I remember. I remember seeing a discussion about this before it was implemented. It was a short discussion. Someone recommended it, someone else said it sounded good, someone said they could do it.

I don't remember where. And it's driving me nuts. I'd love to suggest to the original coder that they alter it to link to the journal and the entry, but...I cannot find that exchange.

Did I dream it?

What a scary thought. Maybe I'm dreaming LiveJournal threads in my sleep.

They tried to deliver my laptop today.

I'm gonna try calling tomorrow and see if the center's open to pick it up. If not, it comes back again Monday - but I have to be at work - but if I can have them hold it, I can pick it up at the center then, maybe. We'll see.
