To anyone who has a paid account and got an expiration notice: it was a bug. They've fixed it. For more information, see:

(Firmly) "No!"

"Who do you think you are, telling my dog no?"

(Laughing) "The person holding the chili!"

"Well, close your door then!"

(Said as I am walking into my office, with the aforementioned chili, and, yes, closing the door. ;)

...it's a good day. The sales supervisor at IBM rushed my memory replacement. I have the box under my desk, unopened, now. He went to the trouble of getting it shipped overnight from a secondary warehouse. I feel, at least, like he's willing and trying to make this as close to right as it can be.

They'll pick up the 128 and the upgrade later today, in theory.

Work is going okay. I'm getting stuff done, a little slow, but keeping up. I have a sinus headache building but it's not bad - I think decongestant will take it out.

The deli had chili today, which is good; my contacts gave me trouble this morning, so they took longer to get in than I had hoped, and I tumbled out the door on time by virtue of not making my lunch.

My work pager's out again. I got paged last night, which kept me up a little later, but I didn't get the page. Instead, about 20 minutes after the first page, I got called because I hadn't answered (having not gotten) either of the two pages.

Uck. Test page this morning failed. So it worked Tuesday, but only Tuesday. Annoying. Replacement pager on order now. I don't know, yet, when we'll get it - there's apparently some delay.

I think I want a cell phone for Christmas. If I had one, I wouldn't be glued to always having to go straight home until the pager is fixed. (It had to happen when I was doing stuff, instead of on a normal week, when I am quite happy to go straight home, pager or not, didn't it? Hee.)

So far I've: answered a proposal with technical details and time estimates on a few specific items, reassigned someone from new development to bugs and had them set up the relevant development environment, coded a bit more of the geo work, written up a report on the technical-service call last night, checked on the outstanding issues at all client sites, written a trail guide for a clean install of the system with a particular database type, and queried about the topic of a meeting next week.

Maybe that's why I got the little headache: all those hats! *grins*

Now I'm off to try to write more geo code. After I check my email filing to make sure that's really my proper task, but I think I've answered all the pressing ones.

Update: Hey, cool! Support had the same thought about pagers and cell phones that I did, and are planning to supply one to rotate with the pager. Which takes out my major impetus to get one. I'm almost always home or at work, and I'm not really interested in having phone conversations in the bookstore or movie theater. ;) It'd be nice to have one for emergencies, but the plans are really too expensive to be worth it. The after-hours stuff was the main reason to want one and - lo and behold! - one is offered. Nice.

And yes, I'm tired, and this may be incoherent, but hey, it'll probably be short.

A good day overall. A bit scattered at work (nothing like distractions), but got a fair amount done all the same. I have all the pieces for the laptop to be what I want it to be, now. I am not working on it till the weekend and being rested, though.

Music and sitting around the house and chatting with friends, reading LiveJournal posts from people I've met and people I haven't. Reading my webcomics. A nice evening to cap a decent day.

I didn't roleplay. I kind of regret that, but I didn't have the focus for it, so....
