I woke up at 6:30 this morning, without help from the alarm, feeling perfectly awake and alert. The scary thing is this morning-ness is becoming, while not yet completely my life, far more common than before. Wow. (I used to be the sort who'd get up at noon on weekends...if that.)

Scott's going to do the laundry later today; I'm going to go to the Gardens, and maybe to Saturday Market depending on my mood. So far today, I have read my friends page's entries here on LiveJournal, put the clean dishes away and loaded the dishwasher with the dirty ones, paid the bills, reread the short story in the Valdemar Companion, and I'm 90% of the way through dealing with the trash (need to take the bags by the front door, and take them to the dumpster).

There's something really weird about this, but in the cool way, so I'll take it. ;)

Brown paper grocery bags rule. With handles? Even moreso. I have filled ten with books now - most of the "book" contents of two bookshelves. (There are still four or five folders of art cards, what will be a bagful of blank journals, and a book I ought to return to my parents on one shelf; the other still sports four books borrowed from the library at work, a woven fabric basket Scott made and gifted me, papers, a couple books whose dimensions are not easily suited for depositing in a grocery bag (photography/coffee table sorts of books), and a video.

Did I mention that I have three more of these types of shelves to do, and that we're so hard-pressed for bookspace that they're stacked sideways on these? Then there's the big long bookcase...and upstairs, two more of these bookshelves, except those mostly hold crafting supplies (many of which are fragile - no grocery bag tricks there, I fear). Plus the cabinet whose upper three shelves hold roleplaying books. Plus the boxes of books in the living room. Plus two shelves on a black metal utility shelving unit with books stacked on them. Plus all the ones piled on various tables and bits of floor around the house....

Stuff. Way too much stuff. I'm only glancing at the books downstairs; the ones on the utility shelves will get a much closer look-see, though. Some of those can be given away/sold, I think.
