Today's the day of the go-live. We seem to have one remaining issue, which R. is working on and which is quite soluble, and we still have about three hours to the go-live.

Someone else is doing the install. Three hours till the go-live, and donuts. I'm happy enough with that.

I worked a bit less than 12 hours yesterday (very slightly), and then we all bolted for lunch. I have a couple photos but not many so far and I suspect most of the rest will be of the go-live, today. Maybe I'll take more photos at the other site. I fly out tomorrow morning early; I should have the same level of net access from that site, but we'll see when I get there if it works or not.

In other words, life is pretty decent. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to finish copying these files to zip (now that the two that were going, have gone), and then there's this donut calling my name. :)

(Update, 8:10 am local time: that was a very disturbing donut. It started out like a maple round, and I was about 2/3 of the way through when I hit a pocket of what seemed to be vanilla pudding on the far side. But the rest of the donut hadn't had that. Very strange. Not bad, just strange.)

We're still here, yes. All but one of the "major issue" items? Resolved. That one? Identified, being approached.

And all the "major issues" were so "major" that work continued steadily and without interruption. They're major nuisances, is all.

(Mind you, I hate having produced major nuisances. But....)

And they bought me a sandwich, so I'm not starving to death. This is good, too.

Sunday: over 10 hours. This doesn't really count, because it includes a bit over 3 hours travel time, but the rest was real time. Monday: about eleven and a half hours. All real.

Today: Well, I got here at 7:20 local. And it's now 8:40 local.

Surprisingly, I'm only just now (the past hour) starting to feel like a basket case. But we're going soon. Tomorrow I fly to another city (same time zone) and repeat the less-harrowing portion of this process.

Gah. But we're surviving. And I say good night. I want my dinner....
