I'm tired, as predicted, but the fireworks were pretty and didn't last much past 11, so I'm not really very tired. It's pretty out today; and the office is very quiet. Manymany people took today off in order to get a 4-day weekend, after all.

I had a lot of fun last night, between the fireworks and hanging out online with friends; playing neopets (the worst part is, I still don't understand why I care about it, but I do - weird); reading here (I was reading, just wasn't posting - for once); and of course an excellent scene with a good friend.

Yay for untangling characters from their own confusions (and setting them up for more!).

I have three significant tasks so far today (but more I could draw in if I have time for them):

1) A bug I really need to find and fix.
2) A change list to go through and identify what work is required to complete it.
3) A programmer working on another piece of code who will very likely need assistance figuring it out (he is having trouble with it but is taking another hour with some pointers I gave him to try to find the right stuff).

That's not such a bad list. And so many people are out today, I really might get through all of it and have to go pick up other tasks from the bug list.

And it's very pretty and sunny outside my window, but cool and comfortable in here. Best of both worlds, that.

1. Where are you right now? Home, at my usual chair in the computer room.

2. What have you lost recently? Um. Nothing that I'm aware of (which probably just means I'm forgetful, too).

3. What was the first CD you ever purchased? Does that embarrass you now? I honestly don't remember, sorry. Too many years ago and too many CDs.

4. What is your favorite kind of writing pen? My very favoritest is a black, fine (not very fine), Precise. Yes, I know, not the top of the pen world - but I like the way they feel and look and write in my hands. A lot.

5. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Oh, dear. Hmm. Chocolate raspberry? I used to really love pralines and cream once upon a time. And I rather like the peppermit ones with the real peppermint bits in them. (Haagen Dazs lemon sorbet beats all of them, but that's not ice cream, if I insist on being literal.)
