Good afternoon. This is something of an experiment. I'm dictating it from ViaVoice, on the laptop, where I had not previously had that software installed. So far, it seems to be doing pretty well, although if I forget to correct a previous sentence there will be a minor grammatical error.
I've already taught it to recognize the name of my character Satha. As well as a variety of terms which, while not exactly common, do turn up in my posts frequently. On the other hand, so far it is flunking the ordinary vocabulary test. This is getting progressively more amusing and less productive. Okay, I think I have finally remembered how to make this thing correct phrases. This will make it a lot easier to improve performance from here on out. It's just that I haven't used it in so long that I'd forgotten the technique - and I don't have the manual handy.
For awhile yet, I think it will take a lot of effort to make sure that my posts make sense if I'm using this. I don't know if I'm going to put in that effort, or if I'll give up on the program again, but I hope that I'll keep using it. It's a neat toy, and it's also better for me not to be using my hand so much on the keyboard as I currently do. A lot of my friends have been having problems with their wrists lately, and I would rather not join them, so consider this something of a pre-emptive strike against that--and something of an amusing toy. The geek in me is very happy.
