I was dreaming last night - there were a bunch of us getting on a great big loop ride (the kind that just runs you around a circular track), except we didn't expect it to run. I knew there was a gateway to somewhere else and, in a moment, we'd all be able to step out on the exit side and go through it, but we all had to get on first.

Well, it turned out we had an operator who didn't know about the gateway, so he started the ride. The screaming was awfully genuine, and several of us (me included) were clinging to the seats because was had not put our seat belts on, not anticipating a real ride. I somehow managed (boy was I stupid) to cling one-handed while fumbling mine across me.

A little bit later, with no transition I can remember any longer, I was on another ride, but this was a simplistic one. At first it went in horizontal circles, somewhat like a merry-go-round only faster, but slowly it came to be wandering in a path around this great big warehouse of stuff, which they were trying to sell you at every turn. You could pay a bit more to speed up again for a bit, which I wanted, but all I had were Canadian quarters, dollars (it was 30 cents to speed up), and other odd coins and bits.

I finally just hopped off the ride while it was running, which was really quite safe, and discovered I had a prize sitting on my foot. Unfortunately, it was only a set of headphones or something of the sort, so I set them aside. I could care less. I was going to spend the rest of the time just photographing the carnival, which would be cheaper and quite fun, but I'd misplaced my camera, so first I had to search for its bag.

That's when the alarm interrupted me and woke me up. I know there was an earlier non-carnival segment to this dream, as well, but I can't remember it any longer.

Unfortunately, now my neck is stiff, I'm stuffed up, and my throat is mildly sore. The only good thing about all this is, if it's due to my allergies as seems likely, it will get better for the rest of the day.

If you don't read the [livejournal.com profile] motley_fool feed, you have to at least read this article from it. This is nothing to do with finances or investing, but is instead the tale of a Thanksgiving meal gone very, very wrong.

I'm laughing like crazy.

And now I get to go to work, but hey, I started the day with laughter.

I had an all-morning interruption (very important, I agree). I am doing the training CDs now. The docs will defer, I guess. Pity.

I really really really want to go home and sleep. I have a sinus headache. Hopefully the decongestant will help take the sting out of it soon. Other than that, today has not been too bad. I got things done, and I didn't totally lose sanity at the interruption.

How, I don't know. But I didn't. Besides, if things had been well-organized, all of this except the CD would have been done two weeks ago, and the CD would have been cut Monday. So, such is life.
