I finished The Sea Lark's Song. Okay, that was an awesome book. Just awesome. The first book was good, this book is better, and I want the sequel now dammit that was a mean place to end that book. A fitting one, but I want the sequel.

It's good I finished this. The Harry Potter book is in now, so it balanced out. I should pick that up and get started on it - oh, not today, I think I'm actually overwhelmed for the day now, but perhaps tomorrow; and the library's not open tomorrow, so it must be today to retrieve it.

So, so, so happy I found the first book of that series. It rocks!

I think my brain goes melty, melty now. I just went on a commenting spree on the Inside Looking Out challenge, commenting on 30 of the 86 images. I can't think of anything to say to the other 55 that I can see (I have voted on 85 of 86, I did not enter, and yet there are none left to vote on...). If I think of something later, I do.

This spree brought to you by the grump factory. I went out to take photos for the current challenge, and misjudged my zoom a couple times. As a consequence, about 2/3 of my photos were out of focus due to my nifty auto-focus problem. Including all of my potential shots for the negative space challenge. Fortunately, I didn't like the composition on any of those either when I saw them at full size, which made it hurt less. I do have a good shot (I think) for the Past challenge, though I may go back in another hour or so, since the light was really from the wrong direction when I was there earlier.

At some point in the near future, I'm hopefully going to borrow my dad's camera and try it out. I'm trying to figure out what I want next, a decision that's becoming a bit more relevant as my current camera limps its way to the great camera graveyard. I don't want to just replace this camera. I want to be able to do more manually than I can right now. But figuring out what...that's the fun part. I'll go try other models at the stores (which will usually let you), but borrowing Dad's camera will be a good way to get to know that one. I need to do some more online comparisons, too.

I'm on-call this week and next. I didn't want to do that until I wasn't on call, but I'm beginning to regret that choice, mostly because my camera was being such a bear today. :P

But! I did get the one picture that I wanted, and I didn't see any pics for Summer Shots, so ... it could be a bigger loss than it was. And I had fun wandering around taking photos even if they didn't come out.

I find it ironic that I have just been on a commenting spree for a challenge I didn't enter. On the other hand, I always crave more comments and a lot of other people seem to ask for them. So hopefully that's a good thing. :)
