This week has been lousy, for varying reasons. Such as the fact that Scott's grandfather died. (We flew back for the funeral, which was in Wisconsin. The death of his grandfather was easily the worst part of the week, but I have to say the weather in Wisconsin was not a real winner itself.)
And my desktop (that I play WoW and do a lot of other things on) died. It looks like it's at least the power supply; I'm hoping nothing else went with it. If the motherboard went, I'm getting a new computer and moving the drives over for data (even if I will have to re-install all sorts of stuff, such is life). If the disks went, I'm going to have a crying fit. :P
Which is what I did when I proved that I couldn't find the problem myself. In part because I couldn't test whether the cables inside were properly seated because I couldn't get the thing open. I hate that case. I hate it a lot. But the guy at the service counter had trouble with it too, so that helped my mood. *wry*
Then I went shopping. Retail therapy! Only this was virtuous retail therapy because, except for some groceries, none of it was for me. One was a gift I've meant to get for a family member, and all the rest are gifts for needy children for the gift-tags at our office building. Which are due by Monday. And which were put out Monday last. You know, the same day I flew to Wisconsin, getting back to work only today....
Then I came home and ate lentil soup and junior mints inside-outs (which I wish I thought they'd make indefinitely, as they are better for you than regular junior mints by a substantial margin if you are watching your fat for cholesterol reasons - I can have these in moderation without guilt, which is not true of normal junior mints - and they are just as tasty!).
I may go to the Japanese Gardens tomorrow. I may not. Hopefully I'll see Narnia with Scott sometime this weekend. And sometime in the next week, go for a long drive to look at Christmas lights - if I can sucker Scott into driving, so I can photograph, that would be a bonus. (I did a walk last year. You don't get to see as many lights and you freeze your butt off and you feel miserable by the time you get home. Once is enough.)
I love Christmas. I got to see lots of pretty lights. Although I confess, I'm getting rather tired of Christmas carols as the radio stations are basically playing them nonstop. The only way they could get more intensely Christmas would be to play two carols simultaneously while wrapping themselves up in light strings...and I hope none of them are reading this because I think they're insane enough they might DO it.
