My father ([livejournal.com profile] pheon) was in a car accident this morning. He did not survive. He was on his way to McMinnville and lost control of the car on a very icy stretch of road (they were in the process of closing it down, in fact, but had not gotten to the area where he lost control).

I will post more later. He was an incredible, wonderful person, as was my mother, and he deserves a tribute as fine as the one he wrote for her earlier this month.

But right now I am shaking and not up for it.

In a little while, Scott and I are going to head over to his house (Scott is driving!) so that I can make sure the cats are fed and cared for.

I love you, Daddy. And I miss you so very much. I hope there's a happy, kind place after, and you and Mommy are together and with others you have loved and lost, and that you are happy. I hope it's so....

(I will either post to Dad's LJ later or, if I can't manage that, let his friends know. I'm hoping to be able to post from his house, though.)

Thank you. Thank you for your words and your thoughts. If you want to do something and can do so in all honesty, if you follow any religion and wish to pray for us (and for my parents, if you believe in a happy after), I would be grateful.

If I think of anything else, I will post it, but right now...right now I just don't know.

The cats (indoor and the outdoor feral) are fed for the moment and Babe (indoor-outdoor) is back in; she'd been out when he left, apparently, or else ran away when the police stopped by trying to find enough info to find next of kin.
