You want to buy this CD.

Well, maybe you don't. But you should consider changing that. It is shiny and wonderful and I am looking forward to it. It IS in pre-orders, not a CD you will get right away, but it's shiny and it's fun and it's pretty, just based on what I do know of it so far, as well as the live CD already out.

What is it? It's cadhla's "Stars Fall Home" - note that it's already past 100 pre-orders, out of a limit of 250, so if you do want to pre-order it, you'd need to do so sometime soon. Go to the albums page to see the tentative track list, along with lyrics for those songs; scroll down to find the same for "Pretty Little Dead Girl" (the live CD), which also has samples for the songs so you can get an idea of the sound, bearing in mind that it was a live performance recording.

It's shiny and neat and I've ordered mine (okay, actually someone else ordered mine because they were very kind and I didn't want to stay up to grab it as soon as pre-orders opened on New Year's Day - but at any rate I have one coming to me!). And you might like it. Or you might not. (Dad, for example, had tinnitus and hearing problems. He didn't like the song I played for him from PLDG, mostly because the song and harmonies were complex enough that he couldn't get the words out of them. I think he mostly enjoyed instrumental music, these last few years, though I may be wrong - it's all he played that I can remember when I was over last, anyway.)

At any rate, it's a shiny, and you might want to check the shiny out. If you want you can get extras, too - see the page I linked above, with the album name, for more info. (And no, cadhla isn't paying me for this; I'm doing it because I want to. Hmm. Maybe I should see if I can extort anything from her for this...nah, probably not. Oh well, look at it and think about buying it anyway!)

Miscellany.

It was a day. Not a bad day overall, though a little stressful. First thing was getting the cats into the vet this morning. Boy do they dislike carriers and car rides, poor things. But, they are now known to the local vet. Also micro-chipped and I have treatment for the fleas (I was right, they did have them, bleh!), food advice, etc. I still need to call the vet back and arrange to get Basta's arthritis shots, but I'll have to go to Carlton for that - this vet clinic doesn't carry the needed medicine, so they'll request it from the other and I'll get it there. Basta doesn't seem to mind the vet, she was prancing around, peering curiously at things, purring, demanding pets, etc. Babe, on the other hand, turned into an inert, immoveable lump. (At least she didn't turn into a frantic whirl of claws. It's much easier, and much less distressing, to work with the almost-immoveable lump sort of scenario.) They seem to have forgiven, in the face of food and pets, though they hung out mostly upstairs even when loose today.

After the appointment we shut them in their one room and headed out - down to see the lawyer, who had the paperwork ready to sign. This guy likes dropping extra things on me when I show up. The first time, I got there for the wills and he started demanding details of the accident. I didn't have them, and didn't even want to know some details, so this was very distressing, and I hadn't expected it. What he was TRYING to get at was, is there any liability for damage/injury to the other car/driver. And if so, if there was any chance, his partner could help with that, etc. He could even get the police report and deal with it. Why, thank you for STARTING with that info. Anyway, that was the first visit. This visit his 'extra' was a lot less upsetting although not less disconcerting. The insurance agent wants to assess the damage to Dad's truck but didn't know where it was. She'd found it before we got there (it's still unavailable as the accident investigation is concluded). He told us we didn't need to worry about that any more, since she'd found it. That might have been less confusing if he'd clearly explained what it was, or if we'd been asked about it previously, which he spoke as if we had. We hadn't, so I was totally confused. At any rate, signed the papers and fled.

Stopped at Quizno's for lunch. Must find a Subway in that area. Quizno's and their staff annoyed me. Admittedly I am very easy to overset these days, and had just come from signing paperwork that acknowledges a reality I really wish weren't so. However, they really wanted me to pick a sandwich off the menu, then modify it. But I found their menu hard to read and had given up on it, plus, I didn't WANT one of those. The lady was like, I can give you X, it has Y, but I didn't want Y. I wanted turkey, lettuce, and tomato. Somehow I ended up with just turkey, no veggies at all. Better than getting the mayonnaise (but not discovered till we arrived at my parents' house, where we ate lunch and then made sure the bird and cat feeders were topped up - so I just lived with it). It was, of course, toasted. I am surprised Quizno's doesn't toast the drinks. They assume everything should be toasted and if you don't remember to tell them not to, it will be toasted. I don't like most subs toasted. Some hot sandwiches are very nice, but heating most subs is just pointless and annoying in my view. (I don't mind if the option is offered, but that's a litle different from doing it if you don't object fast enough.) Ugh. Oh well, it did feed me and was sustenance. So much for adding more veggies to my diet in that meal, but....

Came home. Worked the rest of the afternoon. Got a calendar from canyoncat. Thank you!! Scott had wanted a calendar for work and we were short. (He's not getting that one. He's getting the one we were going to put up at the house, so we can have yours at the house. I love it!)

My Aunt Connie called tonight and we had a nice talk, though I hope she didn't mind too much if I was a little out of it (I think I was mostly there, anyway).

Most everyone - friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances - is being so very kind and helpful. I appreciate it a ton, it means a lot.

Finished a book called Svaha by de Lint. Very odd, but kind of enjoyable. Not likely to be one I reread, though.

I should have gone to bed over an hour ago. I'm going now, anyway.
