Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 32. I will be going, at midnight, to a local store to pick up the Burning Crusade expansion for World of Warcraft, so I can let it patch to its heart's content while I sleep. In the morning, I might even get to play it briefly. Then I will be out for most of the rest of the day, taking advantage of the paperwork I got on Friday to get my parents' mail forwarded to me, to get the shots that Basta needs for her arthritis, to check on things at my parents' house, to stop in at a couple places and let them take photocopies of the paperwork, and all that. Not quite how I envisioned spending my birthday this year, obviously. But I am looking forward to the game expansion. And forward/backward to more memories like finding those letters Mom wrote.

For now, more phone calls. When I get the items I have marked on my list done, I am going to take a break and play WoW for a little while, I think. (Cingular? Cingular wins lots and lots of points over the last two months for being kind, helpful, and friendly. Even when I wasn't being at all calm or cheerful, in the case of the SIM card mess when we first got the phones.)

I decided that today's photo would be Basta and Babe. They decided to be clingy cuddlebugs and not let me get far enough from them to get a photo. Well, except that we humans stand up tall, so I present...their backs. Hi, kittens. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyrielle/359031215/

And a shot of the entryway that I wanted to share, with the afternoon sun coming through the window above the door. Babe's in that one. She's not looking at the camera in it, either. ;) http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyrielle/359031250/

The forecast for tomorrow now says rain/snow. The high is okay, though. So I'll see what the weather is like. If it's not good enough I can do some stuff around home, wait for it to clear. If it doesn't, I get a snow day, play World of Warcraft, and run all those errands later in the week. I'd have to take some time off work to do that (I'd already put in for tomorrow off, though if I do what I plan with it, it won't be a complete vacation day, to put it mildly). It can't wait until the weekend because I need to take out the new bags of cat chow for the barn cats. The neighbor is very helpful - if there is cat chow he can feed them - but that doesn't work when none is there. I will be a little upset if I have to not go tomorrow, because I want things done, but at least I would enjoy the alternative, so that's not entirely bad. Only sort of.

Some time soon I need to take a day as completely off from this as I can. I had a few of those until the paperwork arrived on Thursday. That results in a four-and-a-half-day weekend, not one day of which is completely without tasks related to the estate. I think next Saturday is appointed the 'normal weekend day'. (Why Saturday? Because Scott has a game Saturday. I need him along for heavy lifting when I go out to my parents' house next weekend, so that needs to be Sunday, so Saturday is the Day Off.)

People have started replying to the emails I sent out (I suspect a lot won't be received until tomorrow, though, if they are work emails). It's heartening and touching to learn how my parents' touched people's lives. (And I have, indeed, notified at least one person twice. Oops. Well, the email included an apology if I did so because there was a very real chance that I would.... Sorry! Better twice than not at all.)

WoW was fun tonight and Scott and I played a bit finishing up some quests in Desolace and both leveled. (To 42. Someone else who was 41 with us last month is now 48, but for some reason we have not been playing much....) So that was nice.

Now I need to go get more stuff done, alas. Well, after I get a glass of water as mine is empty.

After I said I was off to do stuff, I went out into the hall (on my way to grab papers) and stopped to pet the cats. And cuddle the cats. And lure the cats onto my lap. Yes, I stick to things well. I had the camera! So I handed it to Scott to get a picture of me with a lapful of cats. Then I stole it back and took a picture of him. And finally, we got a picture of Babe going nutso for toys. (IN my lap because I am dumb. I am so lucky the cat is actually fairly gentle, if insane - I didn't get hurt.)

Okay, back to working out notes needed in order to continue with tasks. Bleh. It's 9 o'clock at night, do you know where your children are? Why yes, seated in the computer room posting to LiveJournal by way of avoiding the tedious task of paying bills. (I don't enjoy that at the best of times. I'm so glad Scott is doing ours for the time being, at least. I doubt he is. It's not the world's most entertaining way to spend time.)
