*sniffle* I like Snow Maiden. I like it better in the summer than I did in the winter, and I liked it then. Yet I have only one imp. Why?

Because it triggers my allergies. Not horribly, but it does. I think I need to put the imp in the swap pile even if I do like it. It's icy floral pine on me, which is funny since anything with an actual pine note (which this is not reported as having) normally amps into an air freshener-like smell, and this doesn't.

But something in it makes me all stuffy. Bah!

When I got home from running (most of) my errands today, I stopped to get the mail. There was a key to one of the delivery boxes in our mailbox. I had been expecting this; I was tracking a tote bag from Zazzle and, as it arrived in Wilsonville this morning at some gosh-awful hour, it ought to arrive at my house in today's mail. I opened the box.

Indeed, my floppy envelope from Zazzle was there. And behind it was a box. I frowned at it. What was this box? I couldn't remember if I had ordered the tins of cards from the internet provider or only considered doing so, but this box was not a sane size/shape for holding them if I had. I cudgeled my brain trying to remember what else I had ordered recently, and coming up blank. Then I pulled it out.

Harry and David. "Oh yeah," says I, "the fruit boxes. What's this month? That's a really odd shape...."

This month, ladies and gentlemen, is a whole, ripe pineapple.

Unexpected pineapple. Glee, I think. I'll be more sure of the glee part when I have done something with it other than set it on the counter and stare at it in vague bafflement.

1. What do you obsess about?

A great many things. What others think about me. The chaotic state of my house (if I can fix it, then I can stop obsessing about it, however). Words. Memories.

2. What do you do for a living?

I am a software engineer; I work on a computer-aided dispatch system right now.

3. Where do you call home?

Wilsonville, Oregon; we own the house. Some days I regret this, but more and more I am learning to like it, despite the occasional expenses and hassles of home ownership.

4. Have you lived up to your parents' expectations?

I don't know what their expectations of me were, if anything. Perhaps only that I grow up and do what I wanted. But I know that, when Mom was sick, I was told (I think Dad actually said it) that they were both so very proud of me. So yes, I think I have, mostly if not entirely.

5. Are we more likely to find you in a coffee bar or a nightclub?

Coffee bar, but neither is very likely.

I have been uploading photos in lots of sets. Photos that Dad had taken that I'm not sure of the details on who, what, where, and/or when in many cases. I need to email relatives to fill some of it in, at some point, but they're not all up yet.

I've also uploaded a couple unrelated photos.

1) A funny license plate. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyrielle/493257617/
2) A newly-framed piece of art that I really like (and yes, it's odd): http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyrielle/494357228/
3) Taken from set 7 below, a lovely (IMO) black-and-white photo of my mother: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kyrielle/493866616/in/set-72157600204841324/

And the new sets of photos:
Set 1 (8 photos)
Set 2 (19 photos)
Set 3 (15 photos)
Set 4 (16 photos)
Set 5 (18 photos)
Set 6(13 photos)
Set 7 (23 photos - black and white, a mixture of my parents' dogs at the time and photos of my mother, including the one linked above)
Set 8 (37 photos)
