I should note that somewhere on the way back, my brain spawned an actual Deliria scenario for a one-shot. Unfortunately, it spawned only the setting and starting point. I have no idea how one would resolve this. I need to work on that and see if I can coax it into an actual game with at least one concept for how the players could resolve the situation. This is the closest to a useful game idea I've come in a while, though.

The question of a second cat.

So this afternoon I got over to Cat Adoption Team. As I suspected, they agreed with my assessment of our situation - we need to wait until the weather cools off to adopt another cat, since our best way to introduce that cat is via the upstairs bathroom. (If you close the door of that in hot weather, it turns into an oven. And it has a skylight but no window, so a portable AC with a window piece can't be used in there.)

So, maybe mid or late next month....

Frontier.

I said before we went to the con that I was uneasy flying Frontier because of the connotations their name brought to mind. (I'm sure they were going for different connotations, but I get what I get from it.)

The name still bugs me. But the airline was excellent. They still serve snacks, which is more than some other airlines do, but more importantly they are courteous, efficient, handled boarding well and got us there on time. In spite of all four flights being quite, quite, QUITE full, at least one and maybe two oversold, and the last one running short of overhead storage space for carry on, they handled all of these as gracefully and nicely as I could hope, and it didn't seem like anyone was upset with the results.

Monday morning's early flight had an excellent head flight attendant who was going heavy on the humor (as she put it, she figured we were mostly asleep and she might get some of our attention that way!). For example:

"Again, you have boarded flight 615 to Denver. If Denver is not in your travel plans, it will be in just about ten minutes. So this would be the correct time to get up and get off the plane in that case."

"In the unlikely event that we find a large body of water to land in between here and Denver, your seat cushion [...insert usual stuff about using it as a flotation device and how to do so...]. In that case, you are welcome to keep that cushion courtesy of Frontier Airlines."

Regarding loss of cabin pressure and the masks: "...please stop screaming long enough to pull the mask toward you [...insert standard stuff about how to use the mask...] ...before assisting children or other passengers acting like children."

And the one that cracked up the entire plane by violating How It's Done to a great degree: "We'd like to thank you for not choosing United to fly with this morning."

Yes, I took notes.
