These are from Christmas day. Certainly not today; so far, the promised snow is rain, at least here. As I rather expected given we're at the south edge of the area described, and very low elevation.

Babe didn't act obligingly photogenic, so she missed out. Poor Babe!

Any of the photos can be clicked to link to the larger picture at Flickr. There are a couple more snow pics at Flickr, but I didn't like them as much (they're amusing, but not as pretty) so I didn't link, so you'll also want to click over if you want to see all four pictures.

Snow! Snow!

This is the second book in the Age of the Five series, which starts with Priestess of the White. I enjoyed Priestess of the White, and I enjoyed this book. Both are excellent, and fascinating. I regret it took me so long to get to this one. Our library doesn't have them, only her Black Magician trilogy, so I bought them. This one got set aside - I think last winter, I'm not sure! - and never picked up again until now. Boy did I deprive myself by doing that.

Unfortunately, the library still only has the Black Magician trilogy, and the first book of this series. (Both libraries, between them, that's all I can find.) So, I'll have to buy the sequel. I wish I'd read this a little sooner, I was just at Powell's Beaverton yesterday (getting Marvin Bell's book of poetry, Mars Being Red). I could have bought the next book while I was there. Sigh.

I find it astonishingly hard to believe that she could wrap this up in just one more book, but it is indeed a trilogy. I really want to read Voice of the Gods now. But I think I'll have to wait, since an extra drive to Powell's Beaverton seems wasteful. Though it looks like there is one at the Tualatin Borders, which is rather closer. I think in this case they may beat Powells. The question is, do I drive up to get it? I think, unless I have another errand at the same time, the answer has to be no. But it is on the way home from work, but I don't return to work 'til next Wednesday. I would have to go a week without the book! Wah! ;)

We got rain. Most of the low areas were apparently fine, but high and outlying areas got rather more snow. They're plowing 26 near Banks, according to the radio traffic report.

I don't mind rain. But I would've liked a couple inches of snow, to be honest. I didn't expect to get it; given the forecast, I thought the alert was probably over-ambitious in its scope. But, since it would have probably melted off anyway? I'd have been glad to be wrong and get the snow. Ah, well.

Apple was insane-playful just now. On top of the cat tree. Chasing her TAIL. *dying of laughter* I tried to catch some video of it. It's now on my list of things to check if they came out, and upload. It may happen some day. Maybe sooner rather than later, 'cause I'm really, really giggle-fitting.

I don't know what got into her, but I know what got out: any semblance of a brain. ;) Hee.
